Andrews County Veterans Memorial

A memorial in the truest sense, Andrews County Veterans Memorial was built in 2006 to honor Andrews Americans whose profound sacrifice for the nation can never be recognized by mere words.  With its heroic eagle sculpture and detailed picture artwork, the memorial is a distinctive American interpretation of classic greatness.

As you walk through the front entrance, six-foot granite tablets are to the left and right of the entrance sidewalk.  The front tablet has a large engraving of the Andrews County Veterans Memorial logo, along with the dedication date, project information, and the names of the A.C.V.M. Board of Directors who began this project.  Beginning with the American Civil War and through the Fight Against Terrorism, each war is listed on a granite tablet stating the time period, history, conflict, and conditions our Veterans were faced to reckon with.

Visitors are overwhelmed by the detail and beauty of the memorial and its true artwork depiction featured on the war tablets.  The amazing detailing of Ray A. Simon artwork of the wars also set in the granite tablets of the memorial, featuring war images from the war period and era.  Each art piece depicts Mr. Simon's vision of honoring those who fell, celebrating those who returned, and acknowledges the service and sacrifice of all United States veterans.

Located at 700 West Broadway in Andrews, Texas, the Andrews County Veterans Memorial is open every day, year-round.  Admission, tours, and literature are free to the public.  For more information or to schedule group tours, please call:  432-523-2695, or you can email achamber@andrewstx.com.
